• Shivers BBQ – Shiver’s has been a local go to for BBQ since the 1950’s.The BBQ Ribs here are boldly flavorful and fall-off-the-bone tender.

• Sonny’s BBQ – The fact that they have a drive through for convenience with a very short wait makes it the go-to BBQ spot when you’re in a bit of a rush.

• The Berry Farm BBQ – Available only Saturdays and Sundays while supplies last.

• Chefsful – This hidden gem is a small food truck with some of the best bbq soul food I’ve had down south. WED-SAT 26410 S.W. 137th Ave Homestead, Fl 33032

• Smokinrich BBQ – This one is a small pop up vendor that also does catering. You can catch them at the next local event. Their website will have more information

• Another location in Homestead is almost ready at 3200 NE 8th St. Homestead, FL 33033 — stay tuned for the official opening date.

🛠️ Local Projects: What’s Being Built Around Town?

Big things are happening! You’ve probably noticed a lot of construction going on around Homestead and Cutler Bay. Here’s a quick peek at some key projects:

• Park and Ride Facility at SW 168 Street - As part of the construction of the South Dade TransitWay, DTPW is building a five-level Park and Ride Facility at SW 168 Street. Once completed, this Park and Ride will feature: Approximately 645 parking spaces, Electric vehicle charging, Public restrooms and more

• South Dade Transit Operations Center (SDTOC) -20-acre site located at SW 127 Avenue and Biscayne Drive in South Dade. Construction of the facility is underway. The project is scheduled to be completed in Summer 2026, with a portion opening as soon as Summer 2025. The Transit Operations Center is an innovative transit facility that will house and maintain a new fleet of 100 brand-new 60-foot articulated zero-emissions buses which will allow DTPW to better serve the transit needs of the fastest-growing area of the county and bring over 270 jobs to South Dade. • Biscayne Bay Coastal Wetlands Project - Cutler Wetlands Component. This project is designed to enhance the health of Biscayne Bay and aid in wetland rehydration, thereby building coastal resiliency and improving water quality in Miami-Dade County. In addition to environmental benefits, the project will feature publicly accessible recreational amenities, including a bird viewing area, bike path, pavilion, parking, and restroom facilities.
